I support Tony Golik for the position of Clark County Prosecuting Attorney.
Wouldn’t you hope to have an honest, hard-working, and experienced leader at the helm of the Clark County Prosecutor’s Office? Someone capable of recognizing mitigating circumstances that may warrant restraint or a case that might lack merit, but who has proven he has the courage, skill and diligence necessary to try tough cases and make sure the “bad guys” get convicted and sentenced to the full punishment they deserve? An attorney who can help his deputy prosecutors make sure that the expensive criminal trials they tackle get done right the first time, so that convictions once obtained are less prone to being overturned on appeal and sent back for a second trial at taxpayers’ expense?
In evaluating candidates for the position of Clark County Prosecuting Attorney, doesn’t it make sense that we insist on someone with substantial felony trial experience who not only understands the inner workings of our local courtrooms but also of the Clark County Prosecutor’s Office and its large staff and various divisions as well?
Tony Golik, a humble, devoted family man with a solid resume that uniquely qualifies him for the job of Clark County Prosecuting Attorney, is all of the above.
I have been an attorney here in our community for the past 30 years. I have dealt with many prosecutors over those three decades of my law practice. Along the way I have grown to respect and appreciate Tony Golik, both as a prosecutor and as a person.
My wife and I raised our children in this community. We believe it is very important to have an experienced prosecutor in charge of the prosecutor’s office. We are grateful we will have the opportunity this November to vote for and elect Tony Golik to the position of Clark County Prosecuting Attorney.
